Volkswagen continues its “Electric Feels Good” campaign with a new installment.
The spot features a robot at a gas station buying a chocolate bar and returning to its car, the ID. Buzz, Volkswagen’s all-electric reimagining of the legendary Microbus. While he does that, he busts some dance moves to the rhythms of Mr. Roboto, a popular 80’s song by Styx.
The end of the commercial sees the robot and his friends dancing the car, while on the screen the tagline “Electric Feels Good” appears.
The automaker’s 2023 Super Bowl commercial, titled “Electric Feels Good”, was similar to this one as it showed a man entering a gas station to buy a chocolate bar and brag about the fact he doesn’t need gas because he drives the ID. Buzz. On his way back to the car, he does a robot-like dance to the rhythms of the same song.
“Volkswagen has always been The People’s Car. And as we help lead the transition to electric mobility, we wanted to bring VW’s spirit of joy and optimism to a conversation that often feels too scary or too activist. This is pure VW fun, backed by some pretty amazing technology,” said Lynne Piette, director of marketing for Volkswagen Canada.
The ID. BUZZ is expected to arrive in Canada in 2024.
