British low-cost airline Jet2 has released a series of new ads promoting its flights for couples and families.
The 30-second spot dedicated to couples, inspired by a photographer’s amazing pictures of girlfriend leading him by the hand around the globe, opens with a Jet2 aircraft and features a woman holding her partner’s hand as they are ready to embark. From the airport, where they show their passports, to the plane, where they greet the flight attendant, and back to the ground, after the landing, where a Jet2 bus awaits for them to take them to the airport, their journey is captured by the camera. The ad informs that Jet2.com was awarded the best UK airline on TripAdvisor and that you can now fly to 61 great destinations from nine UK airports, including New York, Rome, and Geneva, all from £49 with no credit card fees.
The airline’s tagline, “Friendly low fares,” flashes across the screen at the end of the advert, which is scored by the instrumental part of the 2015 hit single “Hold My Hand” by English singer and songwriter Jess Glynne, from her debut album, “I Cry When I Laugh”. This song has featured in advertising for Jet2holidays, Jet2’s sister company, since the end of 2015. It was also used in a commercial for Coca-Cola in 2015 and in the 2016 film Bridget Jones’s Baby.
Russian photographer Murad Osmann has documented his travels as he is guided around the world by his girlfriend, Nataly Zakharova. The images captured by him, showing his extended hand holding onto his partner’s in front of him as she leads him to some of the globe’s most exotic locations, from Moscow to Hong Kong and Singapore to Bali, have represented a source of inspiration for others, including brands and major companies. While Murad’s girlfriend always has her back to the camera so you never see her face, Jet2.com’s spot used a different approach, the woman’s face, which is brightened by a large smile as the travels with the airline, is shown.
