Dollar Shave Club promotes its Shave Butter and razors in a hilarious new commercial, highlighting that they will change “the shave part of your life”.
The 30-second spot, titled “Buttery Dunes”, features a guy who, after putting on Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter by Dollar Shave Club, is transported in a different dimension, where he’s sliding down buttery dunes and an old man makes all hair disappear with a soft blow. His beard, a cat’s fur, and the hairs of two coconuts (they are called “coir”) – they all vanish in seconds in order to illustrate the idea that this Shave Butter ensures “effortless, delightful shaving”.
“Shave Butter by Dollar Shave Club. It’s going to change your life. Well, the shave part of your life.” – the voiceover says at the end of the spot, while on screen a middle-aged man is seen in the same bathroom as the protagonist, using a hair dryer to dry his intimate parts, which are covered in a towel.
