Spotify has released a new commercial, inviting you to discover and create your own playlists on its website.
The 15-second spot titled “Play This at My Funeral” features the members of the American funk pop and dance-rock band DNCE (Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle, and JinJoo Lee), on a stage, saying that they found a couple of their songs on a playlist called “play this at my funeral”. “I just can’t imagine anyone listen to this at a funeral” – says Joe Jonas, trying to imagine himself at a funeral, with earphones on, listening to “Body Moves”. “That’s a pretty messed up funeral”, adds the singer.
The next scene features a group of people at a funeral crying and dancing in the same time on the rhythms of the band’s 2016 single “Body Moves”, from the album of the same name.
The spot ends with the onscreen lines “play this at my funeral” and “She would have wanted you to listen to it”.
