Macmillan Cancer Support have released a TV advert showcasing that “no one facing cancer should walk alone”.
“Macmillan can be there, but not without your help” – this is the idea behind the 60-second spot, featuring a man diagnosed with cancer, who seeks support after being encouraged by family, friends and colleagues. This is what they say to him:
Nurse: “When you walk through a storm”
Wife: “Hold your head up high”
Daughter: “And don’t be afraid of the dark”
Mum: “At the end of the storm”
Wife: “Is a golden sky”
Son: “And the sweet silver song of the lark”
McMillan Support Center: “Walk on through the wind”
Friend: “Walk on through the rain”
Nurse: “Though your dreams be tossed and blown”
Friend: “Walk on, walk on”
Son: “Come on, walk on”
Son: “With hope in your heart, dad”
At the end of the spot, the voiceover says that “no one facing cancer should walk alone”. “Macmillan can be there, but not without your support”.
