STARZ Series 2017: American Gods

STARZ has released a first look on its upcoming original series American Gods, scheduled to premiere in 2017.

Based on Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name, American Gods is centered around Shadow, an ex-convict released from prison after his wife’s death, who learns that all gods that mankind has ever believed in are alive in human form and live among regular people. Soon, he is dragged into a conflict between the old gods and the so-called “new” gods, of money and technology, who believe there is no longer room on Earth for the old gods.
Created by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, the American Gods stars Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Jonathan Tucker and others.
The track used in the trailer is “In the pines”, a cover of “Where Did you Sleep Last Night” by Leadbelly, performed by Danny Farrant and Paul Rawson.
