The United States Postal Service highlights, in its Christmas ad, that it is still going the distance to bring you closer and that, whether you’re home for the holidays or finding other ways to stay connected, you can rely on USPS to deliver your holiday mail to your loved ones.
The spot features USPS staff working to process and deliver mail across the country, with dozens of deliverypersons going even in the most remote areas to deliver the mail they have. Moreover, some of them also take care of minor details while delivering the parcels. For instance, one of them removes the snow from a small table on the porch, before placing the parcel on it, and fixes a light bulb.
“We go the distance to bring you closer” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercials, which is scored by Leslie Odom Jr.’s version of I’ll Be Home For Christmas.
Earlier this year, USPS introduced a temporary price hike on parcels, valid from 18th of October until the 27th of December 2020, which applies to Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, First-Class Package Service, Parcel Select, and Parcel Return Service.
The Postal Service explained, in a statement, that the temporary price adjustments are “in response to increased expenses and heightened demand for online shopping package volume due to the coronavirus pandemic and expected holiday ecommerce.”
