Chili’s have released a new commercial illustrating the beginnings of what is now an international casual dining restaurant chain.
The 30-second spot, titled “Chilin’ Since ’75”, features a seemingly old footage of the restaurant’s kickoff, in Dallas, Texas, in 1975.
While in the background the song “Slow Ride”, performed by the English rock band Foghat, is playing, the voiceover presents, using the first-person-plural, the beginnings of Chili’s: “Chili’s isn’t the product of some boardroom. And it wasn’t started by a bunch of stiffs in suits. Heck, some days, we didn’t even wear shirts. Chili’s. Chillin’ since ’75”.
