Christian Dior has released the campaign film for the new J’adore Absolu fragrance.
Directed by Romain Gavras and shared by the French fashion house on its Instagram page along with the message “An extraordinary universe. An ode to women, all women, stronger together as one,” the film stars Charlize Theron in a pool, among several other women, each in a different small pool. As she walks out of the pool, the South-African actress reveals she was naked in the water and then walks out with confidence, surrounded by other six women, dressed in similar gold dresses. Described as “the divine incarnation of a free and triumphant femininity,” Theron is wearing a flamboyant dress hand-crafted in the Dior haute couture workshops.
The soundtrack music is the 2007 single “Flashing Lights” by Kanye West featuring Detroit R&B singer Dwele. The track, included on the rapper’s third studio album, Graduation, contains background vocals from Australian singer Connie Mitchell.
J’Adore Absolu, developed by François Demachy, is built around Grasse Jasmine and also has notes of Sambac Jasmine, Rose Centifolia, Indian Tuberose and Magnolia. The bottle is adorned with a new supple, almost fluid necklace, “like a delicate jewel dancing around a woman’s neck, following her every movement.” J’Adore Absolu is available as a 50ml and 75ml spray.
