Zaxby’s Chicken Philly Commercial – Feat. Dolph Lundgren

Zaxby’s has joined forces with Swedish actor, filmmaker, and martial artist Dolph Lundgren to promote their new Fried Chicken Philly.
The commercial is set in Philadelphia, specifically at the east entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, known for the iconic Rocky Steps. It opens with a man in a red tracksuit climbing the last of the 72 steps. When the camera reveals his face as Dolph Lundgren, he humorously acknowledges the audience’s expectations, saying, “You were probably expecting to see someone else on these steps and probably also expecting a plain old Philly cheesesteak.” He goes on to introduce the Zaxby’s Chicken Philly, emphasizing that it’s distinct and filled with delicious fried chicken. Lundgren playfully takes a bite from the sandwich.
The ad concludes with Dolph Lundgren standing triumphantly at the top of the Rocky Steps, the iconic Rocky music playing in the background, and the Zaxby’s logo on the back of his red tracksuit. In voiceover, he states, “Finally, the Philly done right.”
Zaxby’s Chicken Philly features hand-breaded Fried Chicken, White American cheese, Grilled Onions and Peppers, and Garlic Aioli on a toasted hoagie roll. It’s available at select locations for a limited time, starting at $7.29.
Patrick Schwing, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Zaxby’s, expresses confidence in their Fried Chicken Philly, believing that even devoted Philadelphians will find it undeniably delicious.
