British Airways TV Advert Song | An Original British Briefing

British Airways captures the quiet, universal urge to escape in its latest advert, “An Original British Briefing,” a cinematic reflection on the moment we choose to leave routine behind and set off for somewhere new.
Filmed across a range of destinations and featuring 14 real British Airways colleagues, the campaign weaves together a series of relatable, lightly surreal moments that express the emotional tipping point before a journey begins.
A nervous driver clutches the steering wheel so tightly that it comes loose in his hands. Office workers, exasperated by yet another call from their boss, abandon their phones altogether. Weary parents, pushed to their limits, finally decide enough is enough.
Each vignette captures a different kind of everyday pressure, small frustrations that build until the only answer is escape. And in each case, that escape takes the same form: stepping away from the familiar and boarding a British Airways flight.
“Please listen closely to this briefing for the most important journey of all. In life, you may experience an increase in pressure. If this is you, calmly locate your nearest exits. We will shortly be departing Wit’s End, Doomscrolling, and I Hate My Boss. Please stow away all emotional baggage. And mute group chats for the duration of your trip. Take a moment to listen to what you actually need. Oxygen will be provided. So will sunsets, epiphanies, and things you’ll regret. So switch off your devices and fasten your seat belts. This is your journey,” the voiceover is heard saying in the 60-second spot.
Elegant, witty, and quietly liberating, the film celebrates the instinct to break free, reminding viewers that sometimes the most powerful decision is simply to go.
The ad is graced by the timeless elegance of “Dôme épais le jasmin”, the celebrated Flower Duet from Act I of the opera Lakmé. This particular recording features the voices of Adriana Kohútková and Denisa Šlepkovská, accompanied by Johannes Wildner and the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, bringing a rich and lyrical depth to the piece.
Originally composed by Léo Delibes, this Flower Duet rendition was released on February 1, 2008, by Naxos as part of the album Perfect Valentine, further cementing its place as a piece synonymous with romance and refined beauty.
Lakmé / Flower Duet: Dôme épais le jasmin is available for purchase on Amazon as MP3 ($1.29) and for unlimited streaming.
