The Split Up (BBC 2026 Series) Trailer Song
“The Split Up” Brings Manchester’s Elite Divorce Circuit to Life in New BBC Spin-Off
The BBC has unveiled The Split Up, a six-part legal drama that transports audiences into the high-stakes, high-society world of Manchester’s most prestigious divorce circuit. Created by Ursula Rani Sarma and drawing on Abi Morgan’s acclaimed series The Split, this spin-off centers on Kishan Law, a formidable British South Asian family firm regarded as the go-to practice for Manchester’s elite and A-list clientele.
At the heart of the story is Aria Kishan, played by Ritu Arya, a brilliant, fast-rising divorce lawyer poised to inherit the family firm from her father, Dhruv, portrayed by Sanjeev Bhaskar. Yet just as her ascent seems assured, Aria’s professional trajectory and personal life are thrown into profound turmoil, unsettled by a series of compounding pressures that test both her resolve and her sense of self.
Still grieving the recent loss of Aria’s mother, the Kishan family finds itself navigating a fragile emotional landscape, one that leads Dhruv to quietly question whether his daughter is truly ready to shoulder the immense responsibility of running Kishan Law on her own. Compounding matters further, Aria stands on the cusp of marrying her long-term partner, Neal, played by Danny Ashok, a man deeply entwined in both her personal life and professional world. As the wedding draws nearer, it too becomes subject to mounting scrutiny and strain, blurring the already delicate lines between love, loyalty, and legacy.
Lending further prestige to the production, the series features an impressive roster of high-profile guest stars, including Jameela Jamil, Lenny Henry, and Jane Horrocks. All six episodes of The Split Up will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer beginning Sunday, September 20, 2026, with linear broadcast episodes airing on BBC One at 9:00 PM on Sundays and Mondays starting that same night.
