Mr. Irrelevant (2026 Movie) Trailer - The True Story of John Tuggle

Paramount Unveils Trailer for “Mr. Irrelevant,” a True Story of Underdog Triumph

Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for its upcoming film Mr. Irrelevant, a stirring, inspired-by-true-events drama that chronicles the remarkable journey of John Tuggle, portrayed by David Corenswet.

Selected as the very last pick of the final round in the 1983 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, Tuggle entered the league carrying the unofficial, bittersweet title of “Mr. Irrelevant,” a designation that would prove to be anything but prophetic.

A true underdog in every sense, Tuggle defied expectations at every turn, both on the field and off it, forging an unlikely bond with his then first-year head coach, Bill Parcells, played by Michael Shannon, while also navigating a newfound love, portrayed by Isabel May.

Through it all, Tuggle’s story becomes a testament to something larger than football itself, a powerful demonstration of how hope and perseverance, however improbable the odds, can transcend even the most daunting of challenges.

The song playing in the trailer is “Where the Streets Have No Name” by Irish rock band U2, serving as the legendary opening song of their masterpiece 1987 album, The Joshua Tree.
