Rachel Morrison Explores the Unpredictable Nature of Love in Her Sweeping New Drama
Acclaimed director Rachel Morrison, following her celebrated work on The Fire Inside, returns with Love of Your Life, an emotionally sweeping romance that traces the unpredictable, transformative power of a single chance encounter.
At the story’s center is Maya, portrayed by Margaret Qualley, whose life is irrevocably altered the moment she crosses paths with Charlie, played by Gabriel Basso, an encounter that sets in motion a romance as sweeping as it is unexpected, carrying Maya toward a future she never could have envisioned for herself.
But when that future is suddenly, devastatingly upended, Maya finds herself hurtled into an entirely new chapter of her life, one that demands she confront difficult questions of identity, desire, and the fragile, courageous act of learning to love again.
Rounding out the film’s accomplished ensemble are Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Catherine Keener, each lending further emotional depth to Morrison’s exploration of love’s most unforeseeable turns.
As the film’s tagline gently reminds us, you never know where love will take you. Love of Your Life arrives in select theaters October 7 before beginning its run on Prime Video October 14.
The song featured in the trailer is “Possibility,” an atmospheric alternative-pop track performed by Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li, originally recorded for the soundtrack of the 2009 film The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
