Netflix Unveils Trailer for “Below,” a Haunting New Thriller Lurking Beneath Newfoundland’s Waters
Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming horror-thriller limited series “Below,” a suspenseful new offering set against the rugged, windswept coast of Newfoundland, a landscape as beautiful as it is unforgiving.
The series centers on Calvin Penney, a stubborn, weathered fisherman whose life remains shadowed by the unresolved legacy of his father’s past. When an unidentified creature begins stalking the waters off his town, Calvin is forced into an uneasy alliance with a marine researcher, the two joining forces to confront a threat neither fully understands, all while Calvin fights to protect the family he holds dear.
There’s something in the water, and it isn’t going away quietly. Leading the cast are Josh Hartnett as Calvin, Mackenzie Davis as Fonda, and Charlie Heaton as Wade, each drawn into a tightening web of dread as the mystery beneath the surface begins to surface in terrifying ways.
Below arrives exclusively on Netflix October 8.
The song playing in the trailer is “Sundown,” a famous 1974 folk-rock and country-rock track by Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot.
Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot is available for purchase on Amazon as MP3 ($1.29) and for unlimited streaming.
