Frances Neagley (played by Maria Sten) is introduced as a private investigator with a past rooted in military service, specifically as a former member of the 110th Special Investigations Unit.

The story begins to unfold when she takes on the investigation of a suspicious death, one involving someone from her own past, setting in motion a search that will ultimately lead her somewhere far more dangerous than she initially anticipated: the doorstep of a wealthy, cult-like organization, whose reach and influence prompt her to eventually draw Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, into the unfolding action alongside her.

Operating out of Chicago in her role as a private investigator, Neagley learns that a beloved friend from her military past has died under circumstances that seem, from the very beginning, far too suspicious to dismiss as mere accident.

Determined to uncover the truth and see justice done, she follows a trail of clues that steadily leads her toward a sinister, undercover rural compound known as “Echo Canyon Farm,” a place that, beneath its quiet, secluded exterior, operates very much like a dangerous cult.
