Set against the backdrop of a climate-ravaged, dystopian Berlin, the eight-part thriller series City of Blood, adapted from the graphic novel Berlinoir, follows the story of two estranged sisters, Bea, portrayed by Lea Drinda, and Phoebe, portrayed by Soma Pysall.

Having been separated from one another since childhood, the two sisters eventually find their way back to each other, and in doing so, uncover an unthinkable conspiracy lurking beneath the surface of the city: vampires, it turns out, secretly control the city’s organized crime networks and are actively seeking to expand their influence into political power, all while human blood itself has come to serve as the city’s true, underlying currency.

Caught precariously between the brutality inherent to humanity and the inhuman threat posed by the vampires who rule in the shadows, the two sisters find themselves compelled to fight fiercely to protect not only their own lives, but also the lives of those they love.

City of Blood is scheduled for release on September 16.
