A landmark partnership has been announced, with Toyota appointing long-time cricket enthusiast and national icon Joanna Lumley as its inaugural Chief Cricket Officer.
The move highlights Toyota’s imaginative approach to championing the sport while engaging and inspiring new audiences.
As part of its wider commitment to expanding grassroots participation, Toyota is funding 10,000 free bursary places in the England and Wales Cricket Board’s All Stars Cricket programme, enabling more children to experience the game for the first time.
The company is also supporting Cricket Ireland’s Smash It programme, an initiative designed to introduce young players to cricket in a fun and accessible way. Together, these initiatives seek to nurture the next generation of players and make the sport more inclusive at the recreational level.
