Adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name and produced in partnership with Temple Hill and 3000 Pictures, the film follows the unlikely but inseparable bond between spontaneous, wanderlust-driven Poppy (played by Emily Bader) and her opposite in every way, the thoughtful and methodical Alex (Tom Blyth).
Though life has pulled them into different cities and seemingly different worlds, they’ve never missed their annual tradition: a week-long summer getaway that, year after year, reaffirms their connection.
But this long-standing harmony begins to wobble when a series of quiet moments forces Alex and Poppy to confront what friends and family have suspected for ages, that the line between friendship and something far deeper has been quietly blurring.
Even Poppy’s parents, watching from the sidelines, seem convinced that love is inevitable. With their feelings suddenly impossible to ignore, Alex and Poppy must decide whether they’re brave enough to risk everything for the chance at something extraordinary.
