Highest 2 Lowest is a contemporary reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 classic High and Low, itself a loose adaptation of Ed McBain’s 1959 crime novel King’s Ransom.

When legendary music mogul David King (played by Denzel Washington), renowned for having the sharpest ears in the industry, is swept into a high-stakes ransom plot, he finds himself facing a harrowing moral crossroads.

Marking their fifth collaboration, Denzel Washington and Spike Lee reunite for a bold reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s classic crime thriller High and Low, now set against the gritty backdrop of present-day New York City.
