Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the upcoming comedy series Football Parents, written and directed by Ilse Warringa and produced by Hollands Licht.
The comedy series delivers a laugh-out-loud portrayal of a group of overly eager parents who can’t help but meddle in their children’s football games. Boundlessly enthusiastic, and often over the top, these parents will stop at nothing to influence their kids’ budding sports careers, all while displaying a uniquely chaotic sense of team spirit.
Through the eyes of Lillian and her son Levi, newcomers to the team, we’re welcomed into this colorful world. Lillian soon discovers she’d rather distance herself from the eccentric group of parents, especially Marenka, the absolute last person anyone would want to face on a Saturday morning. But while Lillian plots her escape, Levi quickly grows attached, even striking up an unlikely friendship with Vito, the quirkiest kid of them all, and, of course, Marenka’s son.
Ilse Warringa, Eva van Gessel, Mariana Aparicio, Edwin Jonker, Bas Hoeflaak, Guido Pollemans, Leonoor Koster, Arnoud Bos, Nyncke Beekhuyzen, Gurkan Küçüksentürk, Evrim Akyigit, Rian Gerritsen, and Michiel Nooter star in the upcoming series.
The song playing in the trailer is “When I Am King” by Dutch singer-songwriter Tim Knol, featured on his self-titled debut album, released in 2010.
The song is available for purchase on Amazon as MP3 ($0.89) and unlimited streaming.
