State Farm Batman vs. Bateman Commercial - Feat. Jason Bateman

State Farm’s latest Batman-inspired commercial hilariously drives home the message: “Having insurance isn’t the same as having State Farm.” The ad cleverly compares the difference to getting Bateman when you really need Batman.

The 60-second spot opens with a chaotic scene in Gotham City, sirens wail, people scramble for safety, and a police car crashes onto another vehicle. A concerned voiceover announces, “As havoc continues across Gotham City, it seems our only hope is Batman.”

Cue Jordan Howlett, who looks toward a caped figure and asks, “Batman?” The response? “Yeah, close enough!” The masked superhero then dramatically reveals himself to be none other than Jason Bateman, who immediately complains about the suit’s discomfort.

Jake from State Farm then chimes in: “Having insurance isn’t the same as having State Farm. It’s like getting Bateman when you need the protection of Batman.”

The ad continues as Bateman hilariously fails at hero duties – unable to stop SZA’s character from pulling off a museum heist and offering an unintentionally ridiculous final word (“dermatologist”) when captured by a villain with skin issues.

Just when things seem hopeless, the real Batman swoops in to save the day. As Bateman stands in defeat, the superhero advises him to “Go home and do a podcast or something,” to which Bateman, clearly offended, responds, “That’s hurtful.”

Jake from State Farm then delivers the closing message: “You wouldn’t settle for Bateman when there’s Batman. So don’t settle for just any insurance when there’s State Farm.”
