McDonald’s UK has partnered with rapper and singer-songwriter Stormzy to launch a special promotion, inviting fans across the UK and Republic of Ireland to “Order like Stormzy.”
The ad features Stormzy, also known as Big Mike, walking into a McDonald’s restaurant and ordering his go-to meal: nine McNuggets, Fries, Sprite, an Oreo McFlurry, and BBQ sauce. As he places his order, customers around him begin doing the same. Soon, people all over the country, from families at the drive-thru to hairdressers, knitters, and students, are shown ordering “The Stormzy Meal” and, as they do, they all speak in Stormzy’s signature deep South London accent.
The spot also features Alison Steadman and a lineup of rising British content creators. In a playful moment, Steadman approaches Stormzy in a diner to tell him, “The Stormzy Meal is my favorite too.”
Celebrating the idea that everyone has their go-to McDonald’s order, the campaign extends beyond TV, with striking OOH ads rolling out nationwide. The visuals showcase Stormzy enjoying his meal in black-and-white photography.
Expressing his excitement, the award-winning artist shared, “I am so gassed for my McDonald’s order to be the first ever ‘Famous Order’ in the UK and Ireland. Never thought I’d have my own order on the official menu. That’s mad.”
