Celebrity chef Paul Hollywood stars in a new ad for Compare the Market, alongside Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei.
The 30-second spot opens in Hollywood’s kitchen, where he’s preparing a cake using an Instant Cake Mix. Things take an unexpected turn when Aleksandr, Sergei, and Carl the Wombat (Aleksandr’s nephew) burst into the room, catching Paul off guard. He quickly attempts to hide the Instant Cake Mix, but one box remains on the table.
When asked if he has opened his personalized home insurance deals from AutoSergei, Paul Hollywood responds with, “Do you mean it’s okay not doing it all yourself?”. Aleksandr assures him, “Of course.” Paul then keeps asking “So there’s no shame in it, even if you can’t look at yourself in the mirror anymore?”
Aleksandr, in response, says, “He really gets it, Sergei,” but Sergei – showing off a box of Instant Cake Mix – points out that he doesn’t think Paul is talking about the AutoSergei deals. Meanwhile, Carl opens a closet door, and dozens of packages of Instant Cake Mix come tumbling out.
The commercial ends with the tagline “Just make it simple with personalized deals delivered from Compare the Market”.
Paul Hollywood signed a six-figure deal with the comparison site last year and starred in other ads, too. In one of them, he donned an Iron Man-style suit and performed an action-packed flying scene, and in another, he showcased his baking skills by creating a cake in the shape of a self-portrait bust.
