The ad follows a woman who returns home in the evening, only to be caught off guard by a surprise party. Immediately, she shouts that she hates surprises, flips the table holding her birthday cake, and triggers chaos among the guests. An elderly man smashes a lamp against a window, another guest bursts through a wall, and a woman aggressively pops a balloon, all venting their shared distaste for surprises.
However, as soon as they open bottles of Angry Orchard Hard Cider, their frustration melts away. They take a sip, sigh in relief, and suddenly, everything feels calm. “Don’t get angry, get Orchard,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial.
