Starbucks has launched a new marketing campaign in partnership with Anomaly, its newly appointed U.S. agency of record, aiming to highlight what makes the Starbucks experience special.
One of the featured ads, “Not My Name”, puts a creative twist on the brand’s well-known tradition of writing customers’ names on coffee cups. The spot follows a barista as she pulls espresso shots, scribbles on cups, and serves drinks. However, instead of writing names, she surprises customers with uplifting or humorous messages like “Let’s Go,” “Happy Bday,” and “Shine On”, small gestures designed to brighten their day.
As the ad concludes, the phrase “Your pick-me-up is ready” appears on screen, set to the energetic beat of “That’s Not My Name” by The Ting Tings.
To celebrate the campaign, Starbucks is offering a special Starbucks Monday promotion. On February 10, Starbucks Rewards members in the U.S. can enjoy a free tall (12-ounce) hot or iced brewed coffee at any time throughout the day.
