Rocket Companies made history with its Super Bowl commercial this year, described as “a tribute to the meaning of home.” Created by the independent, award-winning agency Mirimar in collaboration with Rocket’s in-house creative team, the ad was directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen.
Set to a heartfelt cover of John Denver’s classic “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” the commercial showcases emotional moments of people moving home – families settling into new houses, children playing in backyard sprinklers, and military veterans eagerly awaiting reunions with loved ones. While these heartfelt scenes are touching, what truly makes this ad historic is its groundbreaking transition from a pre-recorded Super Bowl commercial into a live stadium broadcast, a first in Super Bowl history.
The ad concludes with a chorus of voices singing along as the words “Everyone deserves their shot at the American Dream. Own the Dream.” appear on-screen. As the broadcast returned to the Big Game on February 9, over 65,000 fans at Caesars Superdome joined in a live rendition of Denver’s anthem, creating a powerful and unifying moment.
Part of Rocket’s “Own the Dream” campaign, the commercial reinforces the company’s mission to make homeownership more accessible and highlights how the dream of owning a home can bring people together.
