Allstate showcases its coverage in a lighthearted commercial centered around the intense Duke/UNC rivalry.
Titled “Check Your Outfit First,” the ad begins with a teenage girl and her parents, devoted North Carolina Tar Heels fans, greeting a guest at their front door. The visitor is the girl’s boyfriend, arriving to meet her parents for the first time. However, it soon turns out that he made a critical mistake: he failed to check his outfit beforehand and showed up wearing a Duke shirt. His choice of attire leaves the family visibly shocked. Realizing his blunder, he quickly shuts the door and leaves without uttering a word.
A voiceover then states, “Some people just know they could save hundreds on car insurance by checking Allstate first, just like you know to check your outfit before meeting your girlfriend’s family.” The ad emphasizes that “checking first is smart” and encourages viewers to “check Allstate first for a quote that could save you hundreds.” In the commercial, the girl’s mother demonstrates this principle by using the Allstate app to buy auto insurance, saving $468.
The ad concludes with the narrator adding the company’s tagline: “You’re in good hands with Allstate.”
