The HBO Original Series and Emmy Award-Winning “The White Lotus” returns February 16 on Max, with an exciting new season.
The White Lotus is a comedy-drama anthology series written and directed by Mike White for HBO. The show premiered in 2021 and quickly gained popularity. Each season of The White Lotus is set at a luxurious resort operated by the fictional “White Lotus” chain and follows the lives of wealthy guests and the resort staff.
If the first two seasons are set in Hawaii and Sicily, the third season is set in Thailand, with filming locations including Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui.
The ensemble cast features Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Natasha Rothwell, Sam Nivola, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, Carrie Coon and many more.
The song playing in the trailer is “Made in Thailand” by the iconic Thai fok-rock band Carabao. The song, originally released in the 1980s, is a celebration of Thai culture, identity, and pride, while also critiquing societal issues like consumerism and the influence of foreign goods and lifestyles in Thailand.
Carabao is also a popular energy drink brand originating from Thailand. Known for its tagline “Made in Thailand,” Carabao combines caffeine, taurine, and B vitamins to provide an energy boost. The drink is inspired by the same Thai rock band, previously mentioned, and its logo features a buffalo head, symbolizing strength and resilience.
