MUBI has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming horror-thriller movie The Substance, directed by Coralie Fargeat.
Elisabeth Sparkle (played by Demi Moore), the lead of an aerobics show, is dismissed by her boss on her 50th birthday due to her age. Disheartened, she returns home only to receive a surprising offer from a mysterious lab. They present her with a miraculous injection that promises to transform her into the best version of herself—making her younger, more beautiful, and flawless.
Margaret Qualley, Dennis Quaid, Hugo Diego Garcia, Phillip Schurer, and Joseph Balderrama also star in teh movie.
The film premiered on 19 May 2024 at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, and is scheduled for release in the United States on September 20.
