Lady in the Lake (Apple TV+ Series) Trailer Song

Apple TV has launched the official trailer for “Lady in the Lake”, an upcoming series based on the novel of the same name by Laura Lippman.

The show is set in 1960s Baltimore and follows Maddie Schwartz (played by Natalie Portman), a housewife and mother who reinvents her life as an investigative journalist following an unsolved murder. Her pursuit of the truth brings her into conflict with Cleo Sherwood (played by Lupita Nyong’o), a hard-working woman juggling motherhood, multiple jobs, and a commitment to advancing Baltimore’s Black progressive agenda. The series delves into themes of race, class, and the complexities of societal change during a tumultuous period in American history.

Serving as soundtrack for the trailer is Shirley Bassey’s rendition of “The Impossible Dream”, a cover of the song originally from the 1965 musical “Man of La Mancha.” The song, composed by Mitch Leigh with lyrics by Joe Darion, is one of the most famous pieces from the musical.

The film, directed by Alma Har’el, also features Moses Ingram, Mikey Madison, Y’lan Noel, Sean Ringgold, Brett Gelman, Noah Jupe, Byron Bowers
and Pruitt Taylor Vince.

“Lady in the Lake” is set to premiere on July 19, 2024.
