The official launch trailer for “Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II,” the sequel to the award-winning “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice,” has been released.
Set in 9th century Iceland and inspired by Nordic mythology and culture, the game follows Senua on a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland. According to the official game description, “Intent on saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle of overcoming the darkness within and without.”
The game features combo-based combat and puzzle-solving elements, with the trailer showcasing revamped gameplay and visuals, including faster-paced combat and improved graphics powered by a new Unreal Engine.
The song playing in the trailer is a new version of AURORA’s hit single “Animal Soul,” recorded specifically for the game and released on May 17, 2024.
Developed by Ninja Theory and published by Xbox Game Studios, “Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II” is scheduled for release on Windows and Xbox Series X/S on May 21, 2024.
