Publix Where Shopping Is a Pleasure Commercial Song – Feat. Curly Haired Woman Buying Ice Cream

Publix promotes its services in a new commercial.

The spot features a woman as she walks through a Publix supermarket, filled with the usual offerings of dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and fresh produce, but with no other customers around her, and heads to a refrigerator to pick her favorite ice cream.

As the commercial ends, the music stops and she finds herself at the checkout, with a smiling cashier scanning her ice cream box. “Where shopping is a pleasure” an onscreen line reads.

The song playing in the background is the famous single “Bitter Sweet Symphony” by the English rock band the Verve, from their third studio album, “Urban Hymns,” released in 1997.

Earlier this year, Publix opened a 55,701-square-foot store in Wesley Chapel, which also includes, besides the usual offerings, a full-service bakery, a deli area that offers an expansive selection of Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, and other handcrafted old-world delicacies, and where customers can purchase fresh pizza, burritos and bowls, and tacos, nachos and enchiladas.
