Mattress Firm Sweaty Gym Rat Bodybuilder Commercial

Mattress Firm has launched a new advertising campaign, crafted by agency Fallon, aimed at highlighting the importance of a good night’s sleep.

One of the commercials features a scene at the gym where a bodybuilder neglects to use a towel while lifting weights, leaving sweat behind on the bench. A woman waiting for the bench expresses her disgust and asks him how he sleeps at night. In response, he credits Mattress Firm for providing an affordable and comfortable mattress that allows him to sleep “all night long,” cueing the iconic Lionel Richie song to play.

“Get Matched at Mattress Firm. Sleep at Night,” the voiceover says at the end of the 30-second advertisement, which informs that if you see a lower price, Mattress Firm will match it.

The campaign includes a series of other commercials, all centered around the rhetorical question “How do you sleep at night?” These scenarios include a grandmother who humorously catfishes potential dates with a fictional online profile, a traveller who removes his socks on an airplane, and a guest committing a party faux pas by sticking their hands into the dipping sauce.

These commercials are being aired across various platforms including linear and connected TV, online video, radio, social media, and digital platforms. Additionally, they are gaining further exposure through partnerships with Major League Baseball and Copa América soccer games, with the goal of sparking social conversation.
