Netflix has released a trailer for the upcoming action movie City Hunter (original title: Shiti Hanta), a live-action adaptation of the popular comic that has sold over 50 million copies.
Ryo Saeba (played by Ryohei Suzuki), a skilled “sweeper” operating in the gritty underworld of Shinjuku, Tokyo, specializes in resolving trouble. Despite his reputation as an incorrigible playboy who struggles to maintain his composure around beautiful women, he executes his missions with unmatched precision, athleticism, and unwavering calmness. Ryo embodies a blend of unflappable demeanor, foolish charm, and flirtatiousness. His counterpart, Kaori Makimura, played by Misato Morita, adds depth to the narrative.
The movie also features Masanobu Ando (as Hideyuki Makimura), Asuka Hanamura (as Kurumi), Fumino Kimura (as Saeko Nogami), Isao Hashizume (as Akutsu), Tetta Sugimoto (as Akitaka Ito), Takaya Sakoda (as Kunio Konno), and Ayame Misaki (as Tsukino Seta).
The soundtrack music playing in the trailer is “Get Wild Continual” by TM NETWORK.
Directed by Yûichi Satô, written by Tsukasa Hôjô and Tatsuro Mishima, City Hunter is scheduld for release Thursday, April 25, 2024.
