Arby’s kicks off Free Sandwich Month with a new commercial starring none other than Ving Rhames, who has lent his voice to Arby’s ads for the past decade.
In this latest spot, Rhames makes his first on-camera appearance for the brand, promoting the offer that allows customers to enjoy a free sandwich every week throughout April when they place an online order.
Stepping out from a couple’s TV screen, Rhames enthusiastically assures the man that Arby’s food is “next level”. To illustrate his point, he puts a hamburger into the man’s mouth and encourages him to eat the “whole thing”.
As the commercial ends, three other men are depicted watching Rhames compelling the man to indulge in an Arby’s sandwich. One of them remarks to his friends, “This is the commercial.” Rhames, still within the TV, responds with a playful inquiry, tossing a sandwich into the man’s mouth.
The commercial concludes with an onscreen message informing viewers that Arby’s Free Sandwich Month can be accessed exclusively online with any rewards purchase. The offer, valid at participating US locations throughout April, allows for one free sandwich, wrap, or gyro per calendar week with any purchase.
Created in collaboration with Fallon and MSL (Arby’s PR agency), the advertisement will be showcased across social media, digital platforms, and broadcast television. Ellen Rose, Arby’s chief marketing officer, expressed excitement about Rhames stepping out from behind the screen, noting his perfect fit for addressing skeptics during one of Arby’s most significant promotions.
