Manhunt (Apple TV+ Series) Trailer - Feat actor Anthony Boyle as John Wilkes Booth

Apple TV has released the trailer for the upcoming seven-part limited series “Manhunt”, a conspiracy thriller about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Based on the The New York Times bestselling book “Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer”, from author James L. Swanson, “Manhunt” follows the story of Edwin Stanton’s hunt for John Wilkes Booth (played by actor Anthony Boyle) in the aftermath of Lincoln’s assassination. Edwin Stanton (played by actor Tobias Menzies was an American politician who served as U.S. Secretary of War under the Lincoln Administration.

“I was born with the chance to be somebody. I’m gonna be the most famous man in the whole world,” Booth is heard saying in the trailer.

“How does a well-known actor commit murder in front an audience of 1500 people and escape?” Edwin Stanton says in one of the scenes.

The trailer ends with the killer saying “God bless America” and blinking one eye.

The song playing in the trailer is “Devil’s Spoke” by British folk singer-songwriter Laura Marling, from the album “I Speak Because I Can,” released on March 12, 2010.

Lili Taylor, Lovie Simone, Matt Walsh, Brandon Flynn, Betty Gabriel, Will Harrison, Hamish Linklater, Damian O’Hare and Patton Oswalt also star in the upcoming conspiracy thriller.

“Manhunt” is scheduled for release on March, 15.
