Lionsgate has released the official trailer for the upcoming comedy action movie “Borderlands”, directed by Eli Roth.
Based on the popular first-person shooter-looter video game series of the same name from Gearbox Software, the film follows Lilith (played by Cate Blanchett), a bounty hunter with a mysterious past. She returns to the unfriendly planet Pandora, with mission to find the missing daughter of Atlas (played by Edgar Ramírez) and form a conjunctural alliance with a team of individualists composed by Roland, Tiny Tina, Krieg, Tannis, and the robot Claptrap.
“Legend has it that there is this massive treasure hidden in some secret vault. And if you go hunting for it, you better take any help you can get. Because it’s on the weirdest, most dangerous dumpster fire of a world in the universe” the voiceover says.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, and Gina Gershonis also star in the movie.
The song playing in the trailer is “Do Ya” by Electric Light Orchestra, originally recorded by The Move.
Borderlands is scheduled for release in the United States on August 9, 2024.
