Jennifer Lopez stars in Amazon Prime’s upcoming original film, “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” and the trailer has just been unveiled. Described as a “narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing,” the show takes viewers on a journey with Lopez as the central character, traversing various worlds – some futuristic, some dreamlike, and others resembling a factory setting.
In the trailer, Lopez reflects on love, acknowledging the harsh reality that not all love stories culminate in happiness. Through voiceover, she shares her childhood aspirations, always centered around the theme of love. The visually stunning trailer captures moments of her multiple marriages, intimate encounters on a floor, confronting accusations of sex addiction at an intervention, dancing at weddings and in gyms, walking alongside a train on a smoky night, gazing into a fire while soaking wet, singing in the rain reminiscent of Gene Kelly, and discussing romantic challenges with her therapist, played by rapper Fat Joe.
Lopez also showcases her musical talent in the trailer, performing an original song titled “This Is Me Now,” likely to be featured on her upcoming album. The end credits list an impressive lineup of contributors, including Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sadhguru, Tony Bellissimo, Trevor Jackson, Paul Raci, Bella Gagliano, Brandon Delsid, Ashley Versher, Malcolm Kelner, Alix Angelis, Danielle Larracuente, and Matthew Law. Notably, Lopez’s husband, Ben Affleck, the focal point of her 2002 album “This Is Me…Then,” is also set to make an appearance.
The film’s release is set on February 16, coinciding with the launch of Lopez’s first new album in a decade.
