
The trailer for the upcoming superhero film Madame Web has been released.
The movie tells the origin story of one of Marvel’s most iconic heroine characters, Madame Web, and stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who wields clairvoyant abilities.
According to the official synopsis, forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures, if they can all survive a deadly present.
Directed by SJ Clarkson with the screenplay by Claire Parker & SJ Clarkson, the film also stars Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.
The trailer shows how Madame Web’s psychic abilities allow her to see into the future and helps her to save three other Spideys as they take on villain Ezekiel Sims, a man from her mother’s past.
“If you want to live, you have to trust me,” she tells the three youngsters. Among them is Julia Carpenter, who becomes Spider Woman in the comics.
The song used in the trailer is Billie Eilish’s single “bury a friend”.
Madame Web is coming exclusively to theaters on February 16, 2024.
