Sony promotes the “LinkBuds S x Olivia Rodrigo” Limited Edition Headphones in a new commercial starring Olivia Rodrigo herself.
The spot features the singer in a purple house, her signature color, which is also the color of these headphones, listening to her song “bad idea right?” from her GUTS album and dancing around. Dozens of fans see her through the window and get closer to watch her as she performs in the living room. Soon after, they all get to dance next to her, but only for a few moments, though. The moment she takes the headphones off, the music stops and the crowd disappears.
These earbuds, priced at $200, come with two custom EQ settings fine-tuned by Olivia and her producer, Daniel Nigro, for optimal listening of her albums GUTS and SOUR on any music streaming service. The body and case are made with environmentally conscious materials and incorporate factory-reclaimed plastic, repurposed water bottles, and recycled materials sourced from automobile components. This combination results in their distinct marble pattern. Due to the inherent variations in this pattern, each pair of LinkBuds S x Olivia Rodrigo is unique.
With LinkBuds S, you remain seamlessly connected to your surroundings. These incredibly small and lightweight earbuds can be comfortably worn throughout the day. They automatically switch between optimized ambient sound and high-quality noise cancellation, allowing you to listen without any disturbances.
“As a company that puts creator vision over everything, Sony aims to connect artists with their fans in innovative ways. Olivia’s authenticity and commitment to her fanbase is one we wanted to honour with this amazing LinkBuds S partnership,” Hiroshi Nakamura, Head of Personal Entertainment Business Unit, Sony Corporation, said in a press release earlier this year, on September 27, when the LinkBuds S x Olivia Rodrigo were officially released.
“I’m so excited that I got to design a limited edition LinkBuds S in the colour violet. The sound is incredible, and I can’t wait for my fans to experience GUTS in this way,” said the Grammy-winning singer.
