Showtime Series: The Curse Trailer Actress Emma Stone

Showtime is gearing up to premiere its latest series, “The Curse,” which has garnered attention with its intriguing and enigmatic trailer.

Created by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie, this darkly comic series features Fielder and Emma Stone in leading roles, providing viewers with a unique and unsettling story.

“The Curse” delves into the tumultuous life of a newly married couple, portrayed by Fielder and Stone, who are trying to conceive while co-starring in their controversial HGTV show, “Flipanthropy.” The twist? An alleged curse looms over their lives, adding a layer of complexity and chaos to their already problematic world.

The series boasts an array of guest appearances, including notable names such as Barkhad Abdi, Corbin Bernsen, and Constance Shulman, enhancing the show’s intriguing ensemble.

In the recently released trailer, Fielder and Emma Stone’s characters decide to embark on an unconventional journey to the southwestern town of EspaƱola to gentrify and transform homes. Stone’s character is heard in voice-over, proclaiming, “This isn’t your typical home-flipping show. My homes are reflecting the local community.” She stands in front of a house adorned with reflective siding, emphasizing the couple’s special approach. “And we’re husband and wife. So what can go wrong?” she adds with a touch of optimism.

However, the trailer takes a dark turn when Safdie is seen trying to capture a shot of Fielder giving money to a Black girl in a parking lot. The situation quickly turns sour as Safdie snatches the money back, revealing that it was all he had on him. The girl says “I curse you” and it’s this seemingly insignificant incident that sets off a chain reaction. The trailer teases marital tension, conflicts between the couple and the local community, a harrowing car incident, and the menacing presence of armed individuals.

Amidst the tension and drama, the trailer features a fitting soundtrack: “The Weight,” a 1968 single by the Canadian-American group the Band. The song, included on their debut album, “Music from Big Pink,” enhances the trailer’s eerie and mysterious atmosphere.

Fans of compelling and unconventional storytelling can look forward to the premiere of “The Curse” on November 10, exclusively on Paramount+ with a Showtime plan.
