Macy’s has unveiled its Christmas commercial, saying the holidays are about more than just giving gifts to friends and family, they are about making sure everyone around you feels appreciated.
Titled “Hey, Santa”, the spot features a little boy wandering through a mall with his father, sampling fragrances and flipping frying pans and avoiding, at all costs, toys and other children-related items. As the video ends and he gets to meet Santa at a dedicated spot in the mall, it turns out he was actually searching for the perfect gift for him. Happy that he got to meet Santa, the boy hands him over a pair of cozy home loafers, explaining that they are for “after work”, which tugs at his heartstrings.
“Give Love. Give Style” onscreen lines read at the end of the commercial. Serving as soundtrack is the 1953 recording of “Hey Santa Claus” by The Moonglows, famously featured in the beloved holiday film, Christmas Vacation.
