Burger King has teamed up with Steve Aoki for a remix of its popular “Whopper” track. The DJ and music producer worked on a remix version of the chain’s jingle, which aired during the Video Music Awards and also serves as soundtrack in a recent commercial starring Aoki himself.
The spot features the DJ fiddling with his music equipment as the dance-friendly remix starts to take shape. Soon, his music spills out to the neighbouring apartment block, where graffiti artists, skateboarders, and street dancers all get together and have fun at a pool party. Burger King menu items take center stage at different moments throughout the ad, which ends with Aoki in the pool, entertaining everyone with his latest music created.
The “Whopper, Whopper” jingle, originally attached to an ad that debuted in October, is replete with repetitive lyrics describing the signature menu offering.
This is the fourth year the brand has teamed with musicians in its sponsorship of the Video Music Awards. Past collaborations included Latto in 2022, Anitta in 2021 and Lil Yachty in 2020. Earlier this year, in July, Latto partnered with Dallas-based Wingstop Inc. for a special wing promotion of The Latto Meal.
