Toyota promotes its National Sales Event in a hilarious new ad, titled “shoebox”.
The spot is based on the idea that summer won’t last forever but during Toyota’s National Sales you can make memories that will, and features a family going on a trip without their phones. Actually, the mother is the one asking her children to put their phones into a shoebox, which then gets left in the trunk for the rest of their journey.
The ad shows them visiting places and creating all kinds of memories together. At some point, the mom forgets about her idea and wants to grab her phone from the pocket to take a photo, but her pre-teen son just asks her jokingly to just be in the moment.
The soundtrack music is a song whose lyrics include “here we go into the wild wild”.
