Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 Please Don't Go Commercial Girl

Samsung has dropped the official film for its latest flagship foldable phone for 2023, The Galaxy Z Fold 5, which was designed for enhanced productivity and media consumption.

The spot opens with a young woman who, after receiving a notification on her Galaxy Z Fold5, puts down the controller she used to play a video game on TV. “Please don’t go,” her TV starts singing as she’s getting ready to head out for a meeting, but still playing the game on her smartphone. At the office, her desktop computer starts singing the same, to the tune of the iconic 1959 song “Please Don’t Go” by American disco and funk band KC and the Sunshine Band, when she leaves in the evening. The woman continues working, though, on her Galaxy Z Fold5, even in the car. At the end of the day, she smiles, happy that she can’t work and play anywhere with her Galaxy Z Fold5.

“A big screen you can take with you” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, which also invites viewers to “Join the flip side”.

The Galaxy Z Fold5, Samsung’s thinnest and lightest Fold yet, features a speedy Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 12GB RAM, superfast UFS 4.0 storage, a slimmer new Flex hinge, which allows the Fold 5 to close fully flat, a 6.2-inch AMOLED panel with 48-120Hz refresh rate and HD+ (2316×904) resolution, and a brighter main 7.6-inch QXGA+ folding screen (this is now up to 30% brighter and can reach a peak brightness of 1,750 nits, according to the brand).

The device is available in 256GB and 512GB configuration. There is a 1TB model, as well, but it is exclusive to Samsung’s online store in the US.

The starting price is set at $1800.
