Netflix has released a teaser for the second season of Alice Oseman’s coming-of-age series Heartstopper.
According to the streaming service, in the upcoming season, which is based on Volume 3 of Oseman’s beloved graphic novel series of the same name, teens Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) are back in the blue and yellow halls of Truham Grammar School for Boys and navigate their new relationship, Tara (Corinna Brown) and Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) face unforeseen challenges, and Tao (William Gao) and Elle (Yasmin Finney) work out if they can ever be more than just friends. “With exams on the horizon, a school trip to Paris and a prom to plan, the gang has a lot to juggle as they journey through the next stages of life, love and friendship,” the official synopsis also reads.
Akinade, Chetna Pandya (Coach Singh), Alan Turkington (Mr. Lange) and Olivia Colman (as Nick’s mum, Sarah) return. There will also be cast additions, including Leila Khan as Higgs student Sahar Zahid and Nima Taleghani as Truham teacher Mr. Farouk.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at Nick and Charlie and the rest of the gang, which go on a school trip to Paris.
The song used in the trailer is the 2020 single “Gold” by Saint Joan.
Season 2 of Heartstopper will premiere on Netflix on August 3.
