DoorDash has launched its Back to School campaign, urging viewers to get school supplies and lunchbox staples delivered on DoorDash all within an hour or less.
The spot features a family enjoying a bright summer day at the pool until a group of kids show up, singing and dancing for a Back to School commercial. The mother takes her children and leaves, all stressed out about the back-to-school shopping she was reminded she needs to do, and another mother starts talking to herself and listing all the things she needs, such as pens, folders, string cheese, tiny oranges and more. She concludes she needs a list, but an old lady lounging on an inflatable sofa, in the pool, tells her to relax and order all the school supplies and lunch stuff on DoorDash and get it in an hour or less. “Easy Peasy,” she adds.
“Don’t go back to Back to School” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial.
DoorDash has recently teamed up with American Pie stars Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott to promote its DashPass, a membership program that offers $0 delivery fees, reduced service fees and member-only benefits on eligible orders – saving members over $35 a month on average. The two actors co-starred in a humorous commercial created by Superette, DoorDash’s in-house creative studio.
