adidas celebrates FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in a new ad campaign.
The campaign film, set to the SL2 song “On a Ragga Tip (Remastered)”, features David Beckham, soccer fan Jenna Ortega, Argentine World Cup hero Lionel Messi, as well as German footballer Leon Goretzka and former England star and now soccer commentator Ian Wright.
Messi is seen, along with Fowler, leading viewers and Ortega around the world to Fowler’s home country of Australia in preparations for the biggest women’s sporting event of the moment. Meanwhile, Beckham and Wright, along with their granddaughter, Arsenal FC Women’s player Raphaella Wright-Phillips, can’t look away in a supermarket as Russo creatively threads his way through the narrow aisles.
Lastly, Goretzka is interrupted while bowling, while Oberdorf speeds through an arcade, intercepting balls in each scene to set his own record.
The “Play Until They Can’t Look Away” campaign, which aims to bring together the wider soccer family and celebrate the stars of women’s soccer, showcases the skills and passion of some of the best soccer players in the world with the goal of “helping bring more attention and global support for the game.”
“There is no denying that while all World Cups are special, this summer’s tournament feels like one that is truly bringing us to a turning point for women’s football,” Sina Neubrandt, Adidas Global Communications Director, said in a press release.
