Apple TV has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming original “Killers of the Flower Moon”, based on David Grann’s broadly lauded best-selling book.
Directed by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese, who co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth, the movie is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror. These crimes sparked a major FBI investigation involving J. Edgar Hoover.
The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion.
The teaser trailer gives viewers a glimpse at the film story, told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (played by Lily Gladstone). “Greed is an animal that hungers for blood” onscreen lines read throughout the video, which includes voiceover from DiCaprio’s character. “Can you find the wolves in this picture?” he asks at the end of the trailer.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” will premiere in select theaters on October 6, 2023 and wide on October 20, before streaming globally on Apple TV+.
